Churasuko in Tysons, Vienna, VA: How Chef Junzo Miyajima Relaunched the First Japanese-Brazilian Steakhouse of Its Kind

Brazilian spirit, Japanese craftsmanship: how Chef Junzo Miyajima led the relaunch of Churasuko's menu in Tysons, from fire-grilled churrasco and A5 Wagyu to the Fire & Ice Seafood Tower.

Churasuko opened in December 2025 at 1755 Tysons Central St. in Vienna, VA, in the Lumen building. The Washingtonian called it the first Japanese-Brazilian steakhouse of its kind. Chef Junzo Miyajima, IVEA Concepts' Executive Master Chef, led its relaunch program.

The restaurant's own line is "Brazilian spirit. Japanese craftsmanship." On the plate, that means two food cultures that both take fire and beef seriously, meeting in one room. The pairing is less surprising than it sounds: Brazil is home to the largest Japanese community outside Japan, and both cuisines care about the cut and cook over live fire.

As partner Danny Nguyen told FFXnow, it is "literally the only concept in the United States where we're fusing Japanese flavors and marinades" with a Brazilian steakhouse. Another partner told Arlington Magazine that "just a Brazilian steakhouse alone wouldn't be able to attract that much attention." The Japanese side is what makes Churasuko different.

From Brazil: churrasco, meats grilled over fire on long skewers and carved at your table, and pão de queijo, Brazil's warm cheese bread, served here with gochujang, miso and sesame butters.

From Japan: sushi and sashimi skewers, miso lobster bisque, Wagyu fried rice, uni pasta and Golden Umami Corn. Miso and umami show up again and again, making the grilled meat taste even richer.

Where they meet: the Fire & Ice Seafood Tower, cold seafood beside the fire of the grill. At the top of the menu, Founders Club includes A5 Miyazaki Wagyu ribeye, chuck flap and brisket.

Choosing your level: Prestige at $75 is the full churrasco and Japanese spread, VIP Club at $95 steps up the cuts, and Founders Club at $150 adds the A5. For a once-a-year dinner, Founders Club is the reason to come.

How to eat here: start with the seafood tower while the churrasco begins its rounds, take your time with the pão de queijo and butters, and save room for the Wagyu fried rice or uni pasta. Churasuko is in the Lumen building in the heart of Tysons; reservations, current hours and menus are on the restaurant's website.
